Tomato sauce is all time favourite Indian dish. Homemade tomato sauce with fresh tomatoes gives an excellent taste with veg kebab, cutlets, pakoras, with chicken recipes. It pairs with many more recipes.
To prepare tomato sauce in a very simple step by step process. Firstly, boil fresh tomatoes, blending tomatoes, filter the tomato puree and finally, add sugar, salt, vinegar cook till the tomato puree thickens.

Tomato sauce with oats dosa tastes superb. Prefer glass jars and store in a refrigerator. We can store for at least two or three weeks. Can add preservatives and store for many days.
Store in an airtight sterilized jar. prepare a fresh tomato ketchup for good health. Prefer red tomatoes for nice colour and tangy taste. Look at other recipes

Tomato sauce recipe card:
- fresh tomatoes – 9
- red chilli powder – 1 spoon
- sugar – 1/2 cup
- vinegar – 3 spoons
- water – 1 glass

Take the fresh red tomatoes. Chop them into small pieces.

Add the chopped tomatoes into the pressure cooker.

Pour a glass of water. Let it cook for 2 whistles.

Cool the tomatoes and transfer to the blender jar.

Blend the tomatoes to smooth puree.

Filter the puree by pressing with a spoon to separate skin and seeds of tomatoes.

Transfer into a pan adds sugar, salt, red chilli powder and vinegar.

Close the lid and boil all the ingredients.

Stir continuously until it turns thick.

Drop sauce into a plate and check the consistency.

Switch off the fire. Take into an airtight container refrigerate and store.

Cooking tomatoes:
Take the fresh red tomatoes.

Preparing tomato sauce:
Transfer the puree into a pan.
Add 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/4 spoon of salt. Adjust the sugar and salt as for the taste.
Add a spoon of red chilli powder and 2-3 spoons of vinegar. Can reduce the spiciness.
Close the lid and boil all the ingredients. Stir continuously until it turns thick.
Drop sauce into a plate and check the consistency.
Switch off the fire. Take into an airtight container refrigerate and store.
