Bread Pakora is a quick Indian snack recipe. Plain bread pakora is easy to prepare in 5 minutes with very simple ingredients available in the kitchen. Making the batter and drop the batter coated bread slices in the hot oil,  fry on both sides and serve with tomato sauce or green chutney.

To prepare bread pakora in simple steps. Combine gram flour, salt, baking soda, red chilli powder with little water to make a smooth batter. Cut the bread slices into triangular shapes. Dip the bread slices in gram flour batter and finally, fry the batter coated bread slices in the hot oil and serve.

Ingredients
Ingredients for bread pakora:
  • bread slices – 3
  • chickpea flour(besan or gram flour) – 1 cup
  • baking soda – 2 pinches
  • red chilli powder – 1/2 spoon
  • salt – 1/2 spoon or as required.
  • water – as required
Instructions
Procedure for bread pakora:
Making batter:
  1. Take a bowl to add chickpea flour(Besan).

  2. Add 1/2 spoon of red chilli powder.

  3. Add 2 pinches of baking soda.

  4. Add 1/2 spoon of salt. Adjust the salt as for the taste.

  5. Mix well all the spices.

  6. Pour little by little water make the batter.

  7. The batter should be flowing consistency without any lumps.

Deep frying:
  1. Heat oil in a pan for deep fry.

  2. Cut the bread slices into the triangular shapes.

  3. Dip the triangular bread slices in gram flour batter covering both sides.

  4. Drop the batter coated bread slices in the hot oil.

  5. Fry on both sides over a medium flame till it turns to golden colour

  6. Repeat frying the rest of bread pakora.

  7. Bread pakora is ready. Take into a serving plate.

  8. Serve the hot bread pakora with tomato sauce or with any green chutney.

Recipe Notes

Check whether the oil gets heated or not by dipping a little amount of batter.

Procedure for bread pakora:

Making batter:

Covering batter on both sides. Check whether the oil gets heated or not by dipping a little amount of batter.

Drop the batter coated bread slices in the hot oil.

Fry over a medium flame.

Turn on another side and fry.

Fry till it turns to golden colour.

Repeat frying the rest of bread pakora. Drain the pakora on a kitchen tissue. Bread pakora is ready. Take into a serving plate.

Serve the hot bread pakora with tomato sauce or with any green chutney.
