To prepare gajar halwa the first step is to fry the dry fruits and grated carrots. The second step is to add boiled full cream milk and cook. The third step is to melt the sugar. The fourth step is to add ghee and thick the halwa for a rich taste. Garnish and serve the delicious carrot halwa.

Ingredients
Ingredients for gajar halwa:
  • grated carrot – 2 cups
  • milk – 1 glass
  • sugar – 1cup
  • cashew Nuts – 1/2 cup
  • dry Dates – 3
  • dry Coconut pieces – 1/4 cup
  • ghee – 1/2 cup
  • cardamom – 9
Instructions
Procedure for gajar halwa:
Frying dry fruits and carrot:
  1. Heat a pan over a medium flame add 3 spoons of ghee.

  2. Add cashew nuts, coconut pieces and dry dates.

  3. Fry till they turn a golden brown colour and set aside.

  4. Add 2 spoons of ghee in the same pan and add grated carrot.

  5. Mix well and close the lid and fry for the 5 mins.

Cooking carrots:
  1. Add boiled full cream milk or milkmaid to the pan.

  2. Add fried Cashew nuts, crushed cardamoms, coconut pieces and dry dates mix well close the lid.

  3. Let it cook for the next 10 mins over a low flame until the carrot becomes soft and absorbed the milk completely.

  4. Add a bowl of sugar mix well.

  5. Close the lid and cook until the sugar dissolves completely and the halwa thickens.

  6. The delicious gajar halwa or carrot halwa is ready to be served.

  7. Serve warm or chilled halwa.

Procedure for gajar halwa:
