 Prawn curry is an yummy Indian masala recipe can easily prepared with all the spices which is available at home. Just fry all the masala spices with prawns, cook till the prawn become soft and finally, serve with rice, roti, chapati, rice, rumali rotibiryani.

Ingredients

Ingredients for prawn curry:

  • prawns - 1/2 kg
  • oil - 4 spoons
  • chopped onions - 1
  • slit green chilies - 2
  • ginger and garlic paste - 1 spoon
  • chopped tomatoes - 2
  • dry coconut paste - 1 cup
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 spoon
  • Red chilli powder - 2 spoon
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 spoon
  • Water - 1/2 glass
  • Salt - 1 spoon

Instructions

Procedure for prawn curry:

Frying all masala spices:

  1. Heat a pan over medium flame add 4 spoons of oil.

  2. Add one chopped onion and 2 slit green chillies.

  3. Stir well and fry for a minute.

  4. Add a spoon of ginger and garlic paste.

  5. Fry till the raw smell disappears.

  6. Add 3/4 spoon of salt mix well.

  7. Add 2 chopped tomatoes stir well.

  8. Close the lid and fry till the tomatoes turn little mushy.

  9. Add turmeric, red chilli and garam masala powders.

  10. Stir well and fry for a minute.

  11. Add a cup of coconut paste mix well.

  12. Stir continuously and fry for a minute.

How to cook prawns with masala:

  1. Add cleaned and drained prawns mix well.

  2. Fry till the prawns absorb all the masala spices.

  3. Pour 1/2 glass of water mix well.

  4. Taste and adjust salt for spicy prawn curry add a spoon of red chilli powdeer. This is optional.

  5. Close the lid and cook ill the prawn become soft.

  6. Check the consistency of gravy and switch off the fire.

  7. Take into the serving bowl. Serve hot prawns gravy with chapati, rice, rumali rotibiryani .



Recipe Notes

  • Most of them does not cook the prawn properly. The uncooked prawn will not taste good.
  • Always the prawn should be soft then the entire curry taste delicious. And also don’t overcook prawn and don’t make mushy. It will cook quickly so be careful while adding water.
  • Adjust the water according to the consistency of gravy and which is sufficient to cook prawn.
