Fish fry is a crispy flavorful Indian appetizer with simple ingredients. Serve fried fish as a side dish with plain rice, rasam or with any dal.
Take catla( bengal carp or bocha) or any fish pieces.
Add salt and turmeric coat well for all the pieces.
Rinse throughly under running water.
Turmeric helps to remove the bad smell in the fish.
Take a plate add 1 1/2 spoon of ginger and garlic paste.
Add 1/4 spoon of turmeric, 1 spoon of red chilli powder and a spoon of salt.
Taste and carefully add salt. Mix well our fish masala is ready.
Take the cleaned fish pieces apply the masala on both sides.
Similarly coat the masala to all the pieces.
Close and rest it for 30 minutes for better taste or at least 10 minutes.
Heat a pan over a medium flame add 1/4 cup of oil.
When oil is heated then fry the marinated fish pieces in batches.
Fry 2-3 fish pieces according to the space in the pan.
Fry for 5 minutes and then flip on other side.
Fry till it become little crisp. For more crisp can fry for 2 more minutes.
Take into the serving plate
Serve fish fry as appetizer or as a side dish with hot rice, dal or rasam.
