Ingredients

Ingredients for semolina soup:

  • oil – 2 spoons
  • diced onions – 1
  • slit green chillies -2
  • grated carrot – 1
  • ginger and garlic paste – 1/4 spoon
  • tomato slices – 1
  • chopped coriander leaves – 1/4 cup
  • mint leaves – 1/4 cup
  • water – 3 glass(as required)
  • salt – as required

For serving:

  • khara boondi – 1 cup

Instructions

Procedure for semolina soup:

Frying veggies:

  1. Heat a pan over the medium flame add 2 spoons of oil.

  2. Add diced onions, slit green chillies and grated carrot mix well.

  3. Fry till they turn light golden colour.

  4. Add ginger and garlic paste. Fry till the raw smell disappears.

  5. Add tomato slices, mint leaves and chopped coriander leaves mix well.

  6. Fry till the tomatoes turn mushy.

Cooking semolina:

  1. Pour 3 glasses of water. Let it boil and add salt

  2. When the water gets boiled add semolina by stirring continuously.

  3. Mix well without any lumps.

  4. Adjust water and salt according to the taste.

  5. Switch off the fire. Take into a serving bowl.

Serve semolina soup with khara boondi:

  1. Serve the semolina soup with 3 spoons of khara boondi.

  2. This is optional. The combination of semolina soup and khara boondi gives a wonderful taste.
