Mutton soup is mixed with mutton pieces with bones, black pepper, and all other spices which help for strong bones and relief from cold and cough. It is a healthy and hot mutton pepper soup, especially in cold winter.

Ingredients

Ingredients for mutton soup:

For blending spices:

  • black pepper - 1 spoon
  • cinnamon - 1 stick
  • cloves - 4
  • coaiander seeds - 1 spoon
  • cumin seeds - 1 spoon

For making soup:

  • onion slices - 1 cup
  • green chilies - 2
  • crushed ginger & garlic - 1 1/2 spoon
  • mutton pieces - 1 cup(with bone)
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 spoon
  • salt - 1/2 spoon(as required)
  • water - 3 1/2 glasses

Instructions

Procedure for mutton soup:

Blending spices:

  1. Add black pepper- 1 spoon, cinnamon- 1 stick, cloves- 4, coriander seeds- 1 spoon, and cumin seeds- 1 spoon to the blender.

  2. Blend coarsely and set aside.

  3. Take a small piece of ginger and 11 garlic cloves crush coarsely and set aside.

Making soup:

  1. Heat a pressure cooker over medium flame add a spoon of ghee.

  2. Add 1 1/2 spoon of crushed ginger and garlic.

  3. Add a cup of onion slices and 2 green chilies.

  4. Mix well and fry until onions turn golden and raw smell goes in ginger and garlic.

  5. Add a cup(250 g) of cleaned mutton pieces with bones.

  6. Fry for a minute.

  7. Add blended masala powder.

  8. Add turmeric powder- 1/4 spoon and salt – 1/2 spoon.

  9. Fry for a minute until the mutton pieces absorb all the masala.

  10. Pour 3 1/2 glasses of water mix well.

  11. Close the lid and cook for 4 whistles.

  12. Open the lid carefully when the pressure goes on.

  13. Hot mutton pepper soup is ready to serve.

  14. Filter the soup with the help of a strainer.

  15. By straining it is easy to drink the soup or else as your choice.

  16. Add mutton pieces, taste, and adjust salt and pepper powder.

  17. Garnish with mint, coriander, and ginger pieces.

  18. Serve hot mutton soup and stay healthy.

Recipe Notes

  1. Prefer mutton pieces with bones.
  2. Crush ginger & garlic or can add the paste.
  3. Finally taste and adjust the salt and pepper powder.
  4. Serve hot or warm mutton soup for better results.
