veg sandwich recipe | vegetable cheese sandwich recipe

Veg sandwich is a simple breakfast or snack recipe can easily prepare in just 15 minutes. Stuff the veggies, cheese and other spices between two bread slices and finally, toast with butter. Serve hot cheesy veg sandwich and enjoy with green chutney or tomato sauce.

Ingredients

Ingredients for veg sandwich:

  • bread slices - 6
  • chopped onions - 1/4 cup
  • chopped tomato - 1/4 cup
  • chopped greeen chillies - 2
  • chopped capsicum - 1/4 cup
  • chopped spring onions - 1/4 cup
  • chopped coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
  • boiled potato - 1
  • crushed pepper - 1 spoon
  • red chili flakes - 1 spoon
  • butter - 75 g
  • cheese - 4 slices
  • salt - 1/2 spoon

Instructions

Procedure for veg sandwich recipe:

Toasting bread at one side:

  1. Boil one potato. Cut the potato into 3-4 slices and set aside. Cut according to the size of bread slice.



  2. Apply butter on one side of the bread slice. Roast till it turn golden. Take into the plate.



  3. Remove the cover of cheese slice halve it.

Stuffing:

  1. Place the cheese slice on toasted side of bread.

  2. Add potato slice, chopped onions, green chilies, tomatoes, capsicum, coriander leaves, spring onions.

  3. Place the remaining cheese slice. 

  4. Sprinkle 2-3 pinches of pepper powder, red chili flakes and salt.

  5. Cover the roasted side bread slice.

  6. Spread the butter on the outer surface of bread slice.

Toasting veg sandwich:

  1. Heat a grill pan or any other pan just grease with 1/2 spoon of butter.

  2. Place the sandwich at which the butter has applied.



  3. Now apply the butter on the other side of the bread.

  4. Press with spatula and close the lid, it helps to stick the stuffing. Toast on the low flame without burning.

  5. Flip and toast on both sides until the cheese melts and bread turn golden brown.

  6. If the cheese slightly melts our sandwich is ready to serve.

  7. Halve or serve hot sandwich and enjoy the snacks or breakfast with green chutney or tomato sauce.

Recipe Notes

  •  Can use carrot, sweet corn, paneer or add veggies as your wish.
  • Can add mashed potato. Can partially cook the veggies with some butter for a minute.
  • If you like cheese then add 2 cheese slices for one sandwich. I have used one cheese slice for one sandwich.
  • By directly adding butter to the pan will burn our sandwich. Spread butter on the outer side of the bread and then toast.
  • Can spread tomato sauce or green chutney while stuffing. This is optional.
  • You can prefer in sandwich maker or grill pan. I have prepared in a non-stick pan.
  • Press the sandwich with spatula while toasting, it helps to stick the stuffing.
