A creamy chilled dessert mixed with custard, milk and multiple fruits. For a delicious taste, I have added honey instead of sugar. Homemade healthy Indian fruit custard is a dietary recipe and helps in weight loss.

Ingredients

Ingredients for fruit custard recipe:

For making the custard:

  • milk - 1/2 litre(2 cups)
  • custard powder - 3 spoons
  • milk(at room temperature) - 1/4 cup
  • honey - 3 spoons

Required fruits:

  • apple - 1
  • banana - 1
  • green grapes - 1 cup(12)
  • pomegranate - 1
  • dried kiwi fruit - 6 pieces

For garnish:

  • cherries - 4
  • dried kiwi fruit -2 chopped pieces
  • apple - 2 small pieces

Instructions

Procedure for fruit custard recipe:

Preparing custard milk:

  1. Heat a pan over medium flame pour 1/2 litre of milk. Let it boil.

  2. Meanwhile, Take a bowl to add 3 spoons of vanilla flavour custard powder.

  3. Add little by little milk into the custard powder. Mix well without any lumps.



  4. If the milk gets a boil, stir it once. Reduce the flame medium to low.


  5. Mix well the custard mixture before adding into the pan.

  6. Add little by little custard milk mixture. Stir continuously without lumps.



  7. Keep stirring till the custard thickens to the desired consistency.

  8. Switch off the fire. Set aside and cool it completely.

Making fruit custard:

  1. Wash the fruits thoroughly. Peel and chop them.



  2. Add fruits, apple, banana, pomegranate, green grapes and dried kiwi into the bowl mix once. Add the fruits as you wish.

  3. For a smooth custard stir well before adding fruits.

  4. Pour the custard mixture on the top of the fruits.

  5. Add 3 spoons of honey.

  6. Slowly mix all of them. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours.



Garnish:

  1. Take the chilled fruit custard into the serving bowl.

  2. For a rich look garnish with some cherries, apple and kiwi fruit.

  3. Always, serve the chilled fruit custard for a creamy and delicious taste.

Recipe Notes

  1. Mix the fruits when the custard milk mixture cools completely.
  2. If the hot custard mixture mixed with fruits the recipe will become juicy.
  3. I have added honey instead of sugar.
  4. If you prefer sugarAdd 3-4 spoons of sugar when the milk boils. Stir and dissolve.
