Chicken momos recipe consists of a wrap and a delicious chicken filling which is served as a snack with chutney or sauce. These steamed chicken dumplings are soft and juicy.

Ingredients

Ingredients for chicken momos:

For dough:

  • Plain flour(maida) - 1 cup
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon

For chicken filling:

  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon
  • Minced chicken - 100 g
  • Chopped onions - 1 cup
  • Red chilli flakes - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder - 3/4 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Turmeric - 1 pinch
  • chopped garlic - 1 teaspoon

For steam:

  • Water - 2 glasses
  • Oil - 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

Procedure for chicken momos:

Making dough:

  1. Add a cup of plain flour to a bowl.

  2. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and a tablespoon of oil, and mix.

  3. Gradually pour water and make a dough.

  4. Cover and set aside.

Chicken filling:

  1. Heat a pan over medium flame and add a tablespoon of ghee.

  2. Add 100 g of minced chicken or small pieces.

  3. Add a cup of chopped onions, and 1/4 teaspoon of red chilli flakes.

  4. Add 3/4 teaspoon of black pepper powder, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of turmeric and mix well.

  5. Add a teaspoon of chopped garlic stir and fry for a minute.

  6. Just fry until the water in the chicken dries

  7. Let it cool and set it aside.

Shaping momos:

  1. Knead the dough and Pinch a small dough ball. Roll as puri.

  2. Place a tablespoon of chicken stuffing.

  3. By pressing the edges and pushing inside make a leaf or you can shape it as required.

  4. Roll as puri, stuff the chicken mixture and shape as momos.

  5. In the same way, shape the remaining momos.

Steaming the momos:

  1. Take a steamer fill some water and bring it to a boil.

  2. Spread the oil on the steamer and place the momos.

  3. Cover and steam for 10 minutes over a medium flame.

  4. Serve chicken momos with chutney or sauce.

Recipe Notes

  • The dough should be soft like the puri dough.
  • For the chicken filling Just fry until the water in the chicken dries.
  • The filling should be dry but not mushy.
  • There are different shapes you can shape the momos as required.
  • Spread the oil to the steamer in order to avoid sticking the momos.
